Inside Lacrosse has selected the Princeton women’s lacrosse team 13th in its 2016 Face-Off Yearbook Women’s Division I Top 25 rankings.

Princeton reached the NCAA quarterfinals during the 2015 season, defeating Fairfield and Stony Brook in the first two rounds. The Tigers won both the Ivy League, with a perfect 7-0 record, and the Ivy League Tournament Championship as well. Overall, the squad posted a 16-4 record.

The organization also selected its Preseason All-America teams, naming Princeton senior Liz Bannantine and sophomore Olivia Hompe second-team All-America, while junior Anna Doherty was named honorable mention All-America.

Bannantine was named second-team all-region as a junior defender and captured her third All-Ivy League honor with her second appearance on the first team. Against Stony Brook in the second round of the NCAA tournament she caused three turnovers, including one in a man-down situation in the final minute of the first half. The following weekend she caused three more turnovers at Duke and won three ground balls in the quarterfinal match-up.

Hompe loaded up with post-season accolades as a sophomore attacker. She was named first-team all-region and was unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection. The Ivy League Tournament MVP was also named Academic All-Ivy. Hompe was second on the team in scoring with 70 points on a team-high 54 goals and 16 assists. She led the team in ground balls with 27, was third in draws with 28 and added 10 caused turnovers. Her best play came against Harvard last spring as she tallied six goals against the Crimson in the Ivy League tournament, the 15th time she had a multiple-goal game last season.

Doherty’s best outing last season was a four-goal game with three draws, two ground balls and two caused turnovers against Cal.
