Penn Women’s Lax Ranked #14 in Inside Lacrosse Poll

PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team will enter the 2016 season ranked No. 14 according to Inside Lacrosse as announced in its annual Face-Off Yearbook.

Penn, which has reached nine consecutive NCAA Tournaments, is one of three Ivy League programs ranked in Inside Lacrosse’s Preseason Top-25. Princeton is one spot ahead of the Quakers according to preseason prognostications, and Cornell enters the season ranked No. 23.

The 2016 scheduel which awaits the Quakers includes six teams ranked in ILWomen’s Preseason Top-25: No. 1 Maryland, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Northwestern, No. 13 Princeton, No 23 Cornell, and No. 25 Georgetown.

Last season, Penn finished with a 14-5 record, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Penn begins its 2016 season on February 20, hosting Delaware for a 12 p.m. first draw at Franklin Field.
