Cornell Men’s Lacrosse Raises More Than $25,000 For Hurricane Sandy Relief

ITHACA, N.Y. – The members Cornell men’s lacrosse team competed against each other in the weight room last week, putting up reps on the bench press to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief.

The teams of four – led by seniors Thomas Keith, Jason Noble, Steve Mock and Tom Trasolini, raised more than $25,000 with their bench press efforts that will be donated to the American Red Cross.

Keith’s team wound up being victorious, lifting the bar enough times to accumulate $7,640 in donations. Noble’s team racked up $5,583, Mock’s team brought in $5,213 and Trasolini’s team earned $4,229.50. An outside source also raised an additional $2,500.

“Our coaching staff and team would like to thank everyone who donated and helped the event be a great success,” said Ben DeLuca, the Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse.

The team also filmed the competition, which is a part of their “Winter Warriors” off-season event where the team members face off against one another in multiple events.
